Westward Ho! Demo (10/2007)

The Westward Wind Kite Club hosted a demo day at the Westward Ho! North Devon. This beach is well known for being one of the best in the country so it’s always worth heading down for these types of events. I was lucky enough to have been invited to stay with my good friend, Will Mckean’s house! This made my trip down to Devon so nice and relaxing! A massive thanks goes out to Will and his parents for putting up with me for 3 days!

Day1. We arrived at the beach to a light offshore breeze. It wasn’t worth flying at this point because people were struggling to move let along keep a steady pace going! It wasn’t until midday when a nice 15mph came through and blew for a good 2/3 hours! I was out there within the first 5 minutes and was instantly practising new and old tricks! I managed to perfect my Indy grab handlepasses. Later on in the day I went out in Wills buggy and learnt a brand new trick which took myself and a few others by surprise. I won’t explain it as I can’t really explain it myself but it was a tad crazy. The wind soon died after that so it was time to go back home and get ready for the night out in town!

A few of us hit Bideford town centre to check out the pubs and clubs! It turned out to be an amazing night and I met loads of cool people.

Day2. After a heavy night out we woke up and headed to the beach around midday! Again there was no wind so we decided to call it a day and just relax with everyone!

If anyone has any pictures from the event, could you please contact me via the contacts page and I will send my email over if needed.
